大問1

問題文

これから 英語の聞き取り検査を行います。 放送中に問題用紙の空いているところにメモを取ってもかまいま せん。
大問1には、(1)～(4)の問題があります。

(1)では、①、②の英語が流れます。 英語の内容に合うものを、それぞれ問題文のア～エのうちから1つず つ選び、その記号を書きなさい。
なお、 英語はそれぞれ1回ずつ流れます。それでは、始めます。

② More than half of the students in the class come to school by train, and 30% come by bicycle.

次に、(2)に移ります。(2)では、①、②の2つの会話が行われます。それぞれの会話の最後の応答にあたる部 分でチャイムが鳴ります。
そのチャイムの部分に入る英語として最も適切なものを、それぞれ問題文のア～エのうちから1つずつ選び、その記号を書きなさい。

　Hello, everyone. My name is Suzuki Eri. Today, I’m going to talk about my volunteer work and English learning.
I started volunteer work three years ago. On weekends, I walk around my town with foreign tourists and show my town to them.
I speak English when I talk to them, but when I was a student, I was not interested in English. I wasn’t good at speaking it.
Five years ago, however, I talked with a foreign tourist who came to my town, but I couldn’t communicate with her.
I was sad because I wanted to tell her how nice my town is. My town is very small, but we have a unique festival and nice local food.
I wanted many tourists to come and have good experiences in my town. So, I learned English again.
Sometimes it was hard, but I enjoyed learning English by watching movies, reading books, and practicing listening and speaking on the Internet.
By learning foreign languages,we can communicate with a lot of people from other countries. Also,we
can understand more about our language and culture. I hope you will enjoy learning foreign languages.

次の英文を読んで【　①　】～【　③　】に入る英語として最も適切なものを、それぞれア〜エから1つずつ選び、その記号を書け。

　In some countries, like Australia and America, there are traffic circles called roundabouts on the road.
Roundabouts don’t have any traffic signals, but they work as intersections.
Do you think that many traffic accidents will happen at the intersections without traffic signals?
That’s not true. Actually, there are some good points about roundabouts.
　First, traffic jams don’t happen often around roundabouts. At intersections with signals, drivers have to stop while signals are red.
At roundabouts, drivers should drive into them slowly, but 【　①　】.
　Second, roundabouts are not affected by natural disasters. When electricity stops because of bad weather such as storms,
traffic will be disrupted at intersections with signals. On the other hand, at roundabouts, drivers can go through them as usual because they don’t have traffic signals.

［Ⅰ］　Every year in March, an event is held all over the world. For the event, lights are turned off for 60 minutes at 8:30 p.m.local time.
This event is called Earth Hour. The lights are turned off at 8:30 p.m.
in each area, so it is like a lights-out relay around the world. During the event, you can see beautiful stars in the sky because the lights around you are turned off. The Earth Hour event started in Sydney, Australia on March 31, 2007. In this event, more than 2 million people and 2,000 companies turned off their lights for an hour. Through the event, a lot of electricity was saved.

［Ⅱ］　The event has been growing each year. 【　　　　　】. For example, many people in San Francisco were moved by the first Earth Hour event held in Sydney,so they held their own lights-out event in October in the same year.The next year,over 400 cities in 35 countries turned off their lights. [Ⅲ]　The purpose of this event is not only to save electricity. It is also to support the movement to stop global warming and to protect rare species. Around the world, many people have taken action to solve these environmental problems since the first Earth Hour event started. For example, stores in the Galapagos Islands stopped giving plastic bags to customers. In many countries,such as Kazakhstan and Uganda, a lot of trees were planted to create forests.

［Ⅳ］　During the Earth Hour event, we only turn off our lights for an hour,but it gives us a chance to think about a lot of environmental problems around the world. What can we do to solve the problems? It is quite hard to find the solutions. However, joining the Earth Hour event will be the first step for us to take action. Why don’t we turn off our lights during the Earth Hour event this year? We may find something important that we usually do not find in our daily lives.
